In 2018 I embarked on a 55-day FGASA Level 1 Field Guide course with a guide training company called EcoTraining. This involved living in remote, unfenced campsites in both Botswana and South Africa. The Botswana campsite was located in Mashatu in the Tuli Block region in the South East and the South African campsite was located in Selati Private Game Reserve near Phalaborwa Gate of Kruger National Park.
There is no place on Earth that I have visited that makes me feel more free and in touch with nature and my inner being that the African wilderness. My guiding course was the first experience that really allowed me to become fully immersed, both walking and driving through pristine savannah.
